Suswara Arts Academy is organising a musical nite of songs themed on Women's Day, on 3rd March, at Kala Subbarao Kala Vedika, the mini hall of Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha in Chikkadpally. Called Cine Sumadhuram Sudhamayam, songs on women, especially all-women duets sung in old movies by singers like Susheela, Janaki and Leela, will feature. Amateur singers K Radha, Jaishree, Mangalampally Swarna and Mangalampally Hari will participate in this musical nite.
Suswara Arts Academy was started in 2005 by Mangalampally Swarna. Swarna is a classical and light music artiste, who learnt Carnatic vocal from late Susarla Sivaram. She was considered a child prodigy in those days, starting her music lessons at a young age of only 5. She is a B-grade artiste of AIR. Due to her fondness for music, she established Suswara Arts Academy. She organises musical nites regularly with amateur artistes.
