" Hi, I'm Meera. I'm the most beautiful girl in my college. I'm the class-topper and basketball team captain. I'm the only daughter of my wealthy parents, and i still cry" - Me, Meera
This critically acclaimed 59 minute movie is film-maker Subhakar's second attempt, and is one of a new wave of off-beat Indian cinema that is being accepted readily by Indian audiences.
The story is of a young girl, Meera, who wants to end her life after some depressing experiences with men. She decided to take a walk around the city of Hyderabad before she takes the final step, and stops by at Irani-cafes, the Charminar, the MMTS stations, Tank Bund and every other characteristic landmark of the ancient city. Her observations to herself bring life to the documentary and the dialogue in the movie is witty and insightful.
Subhakar describes Me, Meera as an eminently forgettable romantic comedy but we suspect you will be absorbed. It is being screened at Sarathi Studio at 1900 hrs on the 10th of March. Please contact 2770-0734, 2770-0735, 2770-0736 for further details.
