Krishna, the most multifacted of the Indian gods, the much loved prankster and the all-knowing Vishwaroopa avatar, charms and inspires the group of artists called Reflection Another Day into painting a selection of their own projections of Krishna in human form. The exhibition is therefore called Krishna - A Human Face, and will be on display from the 7th of March, to the 12th, at the State Gallery Of Fine Arts.
Acrylic and mixed-media have been mostly used in these symbolic and distorted-realistic depictions of Krishna. With the exception of Chandana Khan, all these artists are from Bengal and are a motley group of ages. The senior most artists like Wasim Kapoor, Milan Das, Alok Roy have conducted exhibitions in India and abroad as well, while the youngest artists show immense promise.
Milan das, Partho Roy, Manoj Roy, Dhiraj Roy, Alok Roy, Pushpen Roy, Shomir Sarkar, Sushanto Chaudhary, Subroto Saha, Nirban Ash, Wasim Kapur, Chandana Khan, Probit Das, Reena Das and Malaichandan Saha comprise the group.
