One of the most popular chess tournaments of the twin cities, the Magna Under-10 & Under-15 Chess Tournament, is being organised by the Magna Chess Academy, on 3rd February, at the Magna Chambers, Opp. Cherma's, Abids.
The tournament will be played in the Swiss league, with each player having to play atleast 4 games. The final winner will be decided based on the total points scored. The registration fee is Rs. 100 per participant, and cups will awarded to the top ten players in each category.
Magna Chess Academy is a registered academy under the A P Chess Federation. The academy organises various tournaments around the year in which rated players of the state participate. Their tournaments are quite popular, and the turnout of participants speaks of this. It also organises coaching classes at various schools, thus popularising the game at the grassroot level.
