After the pain the gain and all that, but for none of these is this really a culmination - if recognition is indeed the goal, then this young lot would only see this as the starting point of a long journey. But whatever be the culmination of that, this is going to be a great photo in the albums.
The Navya Nataka Kala Samithi is organizing a prize distribution ceremony for the winners in the AV Savithri memorial light music competitions held YMCA, Narayanaguda, on the 22nd of this month. Please click here for a full preview of the original event.
The event held was in the memory of late A V Savithri, a veteran singer. This is the fifth year in a row for the A V Savithri memorial light music competitions. The competition was open to amateur singers, who were given options to sing either classical or semi-classical tunes (famous as Sugam Sangeet in the AIR).
The event held for the senior (16 to 22 years), junior (11 to 15 years) and sub-juniors (6 to 10 years) categories. Cash prizes of Rs. 1,000 (seniors), Rs. 500 (juniors) and Rs. 300 (sub-junior) will be given away to the first three winners in each category today at the Sundarayya Vignana Kendram.
