If the worst part about Shilparamam is the distance, the best part is that it's always worth it. Here's how it's coming alive this Saturday night.
Shilparamam, as part of its weekly program of classical music, is presenting a light music recital by Ch Sharmila this Saturday. She will be accompanied by Satyadev on the keyboards and Srikanth on the tabla. Sharmila will be singing some songs penned by Dr C Narayana Reddy and Devulapally Krishna Sastry:
Marokasari Telugu Paadu
Nindu Punnami Pandu Vennela
Challanaina Chandamama
Mroginchane Murali
Alikidaite Chaalu
Koyila Koosina and
Amma Donga, among others.
Ch Sharmila is a disciple of I V L N Sastry and Atreyapurapu Narasimhamba in Carnatic music, and Ramanuja Suri in light music, at Visakhapatnam. She is a B graded artiste of the All-India Radio, and has given performances in several places in Visakhapatnam. She's recently shifted from Vizag to Hyderabad with her husband who is a software engineer in Software Technologies Limited, and this is her first performance in the city.
