The Andhra Pradesh Chess Association, along with the ILN & SS Educational Institutions, is organising the Kyan Independence Cup Inter-School Chess Tournament, on 13th and 14th August, at the Guru Gobind Singh Multi-Purpose Sports Complex in Ameerpet.
The games will be held in the categories of seniors, juniors and sub-juniors boys and girls. School children in the 9th and 10th standards can play in the seniors category, those in the 6th to 8th standards in juniors, and those in the 5th standard and below in the sub-juniors category. The tournament will be conducted in the Sicilian format on a league basis.
Mementos will be given to the winners along with 60 individual prizes for the top 10 placed players, in all the three categories of boys and girls, and 18 team prizes for the top three teams in each category.
