With each new day in Hyderabad, come glittering new shopping malls housed in sleek wonders of glass and concrete. What happens to the old heritage buildings, those quaint structures of the Nizamian era and Andhraite constructions?
The French, faced with similar questions about their heritage, have come up with 'Transcriptions' : enhancing certain features of the old construction and adding new functionality without disturbing the aesthetics of it.
Madame Christine Desmoulins and Monsieur Philippe Robert were given the responsibility of conceiving this exhibition about Transcriptions of Architecture, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its operator, the Association for the Diffusion of French Thought.
The exhibition includes 16 panels - in French - presenting some examples of Transcriptions in the French architecture, with photographs, graphs, texts and quotations by architects.
