You needn't swim in the Hussain Sagar. Thank God! OU is holding championships in swimming in a very decent swimming pool. The University College of Science, Osmania University is organising this annual event at the MCH Swimming Pool at Secunderabad.
The championships start from 8:00 AM. Fourteen colleges have confirmed their participation and will now try and prove their prowess. Kasturba Gandhi Degree & PG College, A V ColIege, M J CoIlege of Engineering & Technology, Sardar Patel College, Indian Institute of Management & Commerce, Nizam College, Government Degree College (Khairatabad), Vasavi College of Engineering, St Joseph's Degree College, Chaitanya Bharathi Intitute of Technology, University College of Science, University CoIlege of Engineering, Bhavan's College (Sainikpuri) and Badruka (Day) College will be battling it out in the pool.

Inter-College Tournaments and Inter-University Tournaments rules, as existing will be followed.
A swimmer can participate in any number of events.
Lecturer in Physical Education or any teaching staff member should accompany the team.
If there are more than one heat the swimmers have to do their best in their respective heats as the winners will be decided on the best timings.
India's achievements in sports leave a lot to be desired. Trying to nurture the immense talent at the root level, the OU conducting various Inter-College Tournaments, which would aid as stepping stones in rewriting the fortunes of the country's sports.
