At one stage, being intellectual was all about appreciating Hungarian cinema. No wonder communism collapsed. Jokes apart, Hungarian cinema has become the benchmark of quality films the world over. And one of the most enterprising organizations in town in parallel cinema has decided to make public this fact.
The Hyderabad Film Club has always been the front-runner with regard to organizing film festivals in the city. HFC has been into this for quite sometime now and has won accolades for its continuous efforts in screening international award winning films. The films screened at these festivals are value-based and are a celebration of the art of filmmaking.
As part of this endeavor, HFC is screening four award-winning Hungarian films starting from the 9th of this month. They are "Little Vilma - The Last Diary" (directed by Marta Meszaros), "Jadviga's Pillow", "Love Mother" and "Requiem". These films were screened at many international film festivals and have won wide critical acclaim.
