Walking is very good for health. Even for humans. Even for heritage monuments. Yup. The Department of Tourism thinks so, and is going ahead with this novel idea called heritage walk. Heritage walk happens on the last Sunday of the every month. It is basically a process of making Charminar a pedestrian friendly zone. But this one is special.
It's in response to a special request for the students of Nasik Architecture College, Maharashtra. A walk marvelling at the architectural marvel, and maintenance of some really classic structures of our city.
A professional architect will be guiding the party through all the monuments, and will not only explain the architecture, but also its history. The places covered in the walk are:
1. Charminar
2. Char Kamans
3. She-e-Batil Kaman
4. Laad Bazaar
5. Mecca Masjid
6. Nizamia Hospital
7. Jami Masjid
History repeats, as the saying goes. This time an architect will be repeating it. But history is fun, with or without architects, so be there to share the fun.
