There was nothing poetic about what happened at Gujarat, so a poets' meet would appear strange. Then, maybe not. None other than Mr. Vajpayee was composing poems as Gujarat burned.
Poets, writers and artistes from all over the State are coming together to participate in Gujarat Gayam (Gujarat injury), a program where they will discuss the recent Gujarat carnage.
Noted writer Devipriya will chair the morning session. Veteran journalist A B K Prasad will speak on "Maxim Gorky's appeal for the unity of democratic writers, background and present day necessity".
Poets Dasaradhi Ranga Charya, Seshendra, Siasat editor Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Vaartha editor K Ramachandra Murthy, Prajasakthi editor Telakapalli Ravi, Singameneni Narayana, Burgula Narsing Rao and P L Visweswar Rao will speak during the session.
Jayadheer Tirumala Rao will chair the afternoon session. Noted poet Afsar will speak on the topic 'Need For Secular Democratic Front'. Padmabhushan Kaloji Narayana Rao, B Narsing Rao, Visalandhra editor K Srinivas Reddy and V Ramakrishna will be among others speaking during the session.
S V Satyanarayana will chair the third session. Choopu editor Katyayani will speak on 'Communalism: Its Effect On Women And Children'. R V R Chandrasekhara Rao and Telangana Rasta editor P Yadagiri will talk during the session.
Noted poet and journalist M T Khan will chair the last session. R S Rao will speak on 'Fascist Laboratory Gujarat-Political And Economic Background'. Poets like Vegunta Mohana Prasad, Allam Narayana, Juluri Gowrishankar, Andersri, Goreti Venkanna, Arunodaya Rama Rao and Ghantasala Nirmala will recite their poems on Gujarat.
