"Eeyana paate kaadu, maata koodaa artham kaadu," said Allu in that memorable music teacher role in Sankarabharanam. This is perhaps the other way round for the rest of town (and, we suspect, for a lot of the inmates themselves). If amateurish French song rendering is something you're convinced you'll enjoy, though, here is a veritable treat.
The French Embassy and the Alliance Francaise de Hyderabad are jointly organizing a music competition called 'French Nightingale' for students of French. The Embassy will supply 4 cassettes containing different songs for this competition, and each student will have to choose a song that he/she will present in front of the judges. Those interested can enroll their names at the Alliance Francaise office at West Marredpally, Secunderabad.
The winner will be titled the 'French Nightingale of Hyderabad', and he/she will become eligible to take part in the national level competition. Similar competitions will take place at all the branches of the Alliance Francaise in India. The winners in all the branches will compete for the 'French Nightingale of India' title, and the finalist will compete for the international title at France.
