The Vemana Yoga Research Institute is conducting a free yoga camp from 21st April to 4th June at Balkampet. The camp is for students of age 8-16 years, who will be trained in yoga, meditation, breathing techniques, stress management and weight reduction. There will also be spiritual short stories, and session on how to increase height. Trained teachers Girish Kumar, Subhashini, Chandana and Kiranmai are going to handle the camp. The timings are 8:30am to 11:30am and 5:00pm to 6:30pm.
The Vemana Yoga Research Institute, Secunderabad, was established by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as a government institution on 1st Nov 1978. Thereafter, the institution was brought under the control of Indian Medicine And Homeopathy Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh. Through the constant support it has been giving ever since its inception, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has proved to be the backbone of the Vemana Yoga Research Institute.
The main aim of the institute is to impart to the members of society a thorough knowledge of the various aspects of yoga as an important means to achieve excellence in personal growth, through a systematic, intensive and comprehensive program of yoga education. The institute makes use of its extensive research undertakings, practical training courses and sophisticated scientific instruments to achieve what it envisages as the holistic development of human personality. Extensive work has been done on diseases like diabetes, asthma, obesity, hypertension, cervical sponblosis and non-specific low back pain.
