Zzzzzzzzzzz went half the theater. The other half couldn't catch their beauty sleep because the A/C was out of order. 'This is a regular feature here' said the usher. 'So much so, that we've started handing out bed rolls at the entrance.'
I went in a little surprised. But as the curtains went down, I was rudely woken up by the cold wet mop, and I realised what an utter waste of time and money this had been. If only I was as fortunate as the school kids today, I would have been capable of discerning a good flick from a bad one before wasting some precious moolah on it.
The Children's Film Society is conducting a program on appreciation of films for school children and teachers. The main aim of this program is to educate children on what movies are worth a watch. 48 films will be shown as a part of this program which also includes interactive sessions, discussions and seminars. Some of the well-known movies that will be aired are The Goal, Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Malli and Pehle Aap.
The discussions will analyse movies from the technical and qualitative aspects, and will proceed to discuss characters and scenes. The speakers at this program include bigwigs of tinsel town like K L Prasad and Gopalam. All this so that the movies of tomorrow do not have the added sound effects of snores!
Please contact the Children's Film Society on 2763-5669 or 2763-6214 for further details.
