It takes a lot to exhibit while you're still in 4th year of BFA. If you're not one of these 5 kids, that is.
Chitramayee - State Gallery of Fine Art is organising a group exhibition of paintings, from 17th to 26th November. Five artists, Maredu Ramu, Vijay Shekhar, Iqra Shahid, J Keerthi Mohan and Ch Gyaneshwar, all of the them pursuing their BFA in painting from Sri Venkateshwara College of Fine Arts in Madhapur, will be exhibiting 70 of their drawings, sketches and paintings, done with water colors and acrylic on canvas. The paintings and drawings are differently themed on landscapes, abstracts and human figures.
Ramu is a 4th year student of BFA, and has participated in group art exhibitions at Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University and the Hyderabad Art Society of the All-India Industrial Exhibition Society during this year. He is a recipient of the Krishnakriti Foundation Scholarship for 2005-06. Vijay Shekhar and Iqra Shahid are also students of 4th year in BFA. This is Vijay's first art show, whereas Iqra has participated in group shows at Kalamandir, Begumpet, in this year and at Chitramayee in 2005. She won the Kshetra Award at the A P State Art Competition.
Keerthi Mohan and Gyaneshwar are pursuing their 3rd year in BFA. Keerthi has participated in group art exhibitions at the Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, the Hyderabad Art Society of the All-India Industrial Exhibition Society in Hyderabad, and the South Zone Camlin Art Foundation in Chennai during this year. He was awarded the Highly Commended Certificate at the 35th Annual Art Exhibition conducted by the Lalitha Kala Parishad, Visakhapatnam. Gyaneshwar has also done his diploma in 2D animation in 2000. He directed a short animated film on child labor, besides various international cartoon filmings. This is his first art exhibition.
