Devang Patel Nite

 Devang Patel, the self made pop star known for his spoofs of hit songs of international 
and Indian artists, is coming to Hyderabad to perform at Megabowl, the bowling 
alley at Big Bazaar today.




Devang enjoyed singing and performing from an early age but, like a lot of his peers, was pushed towards a career in more traditional professions by his parents. After 3 years of studying accountancy he could not take it any more and ran away to Mumbai where he lived in a run down tenement while trying to break into performing. He gigged for a short while and released a couple of albums of 'straight' songs, with a couple of spoofs of Western artists. A record company Executive spotted his potential and said he should concentrate on spoofs - and the album 'Patelscope' was born, which became a hit. And a number of albums that followed won him more acclaim.



He will perform this evening, and will also give prizes to 'offbeat' people among the audience. The tickets for the program are priced at Rs. 250 (couple) and Rs. 150 (single). Megabowl is also offering free bowling games and Coke along with the entry tickets, and there are also special snacks buffets and exclusive mocktails.


The couple entry tickets can be redeemed for two free games of bowling and two 
Cokes while the single entry ticket can be redeemed for a free game and a Coke
