Whatever your feelings may be about him, there is certainly one reason to celebrate Dasari's turning 60. Kinnera Art Theatres, together with the All-India Dasari Yuva Shakti Centre, is organising the Dasari Telugu Natakotsavalu from 4th to 6th May. Seven plays from different parts of the state will be staged during the 3-day festival, as per the schedule below:
4th May
6:30pm - Chirasmaraneeyulu, by Jana Chaitanya of Ongole
7:30pm - Dhanyosmi, by Snehalaya of Kakinada
5th May
6:00pm - Parjanya Ghosha, by Shivapriya Arts of Nellore
7:00pm - Dhritarashtra Kaugili, by Railway Koduru of Kadapa
8:00pm - O Thandri Prashna, by Meka Arts of Hyderabad
6th May
6:00pm - Shiva Thandavam, by Nata Samachya of Hyderabad
7:15pm - Raktasikta Nadulu Daati, by Chaitanya Sravanthi of Vijayawada
On the completion of his sashthipoorthi (60 years), noted film director Dasari Narayana Rao will be felicitated. Distinguished and senior theater personality Chaatla Sreeramulu will be decorated with a Bangaru Kankanam, for his achievements to the field of theater.
Kinnera Art Theaters was started in 1977, and has since organised various programs, be they musical nites, classical dance or vocal concerts, felicitations or release of books. It has served as a platform for many upcoming artistes, and at the same time provided the necessary recognition and appreciation for the established ones. Dr R Prabhakar Rao, IPS, is the chairman of the association, while M Raghuram is its dedicated secretary.
