The Buddha preached excellence in his life - and Murali Prasad couldn't have found a more appropriate way to demonstrate to the Lord what he's excellent at!
On the occasion of Buddha Jayanthi, the ICCR Art Gallery in the Ravindra Bharathi compound is organising an exhibition of paintings by K Murali Prasad, on the life history of Buddha, from 2nd to 6th May. About 47 paintings in different media, like water-colors on paper, and oil and acrylic paints on canvas and paper, are on display.
Most of the paintings are on the life of Lord Buddha, from childhood till attainment of Nirvana. Most of these paintings were exhibited at the Kalachakra Buddhist Conference at Amaravathi, Guntur.
Prasad finished his Diploma in Fine Arts in painting from the JNTU College of Fine Arts, Hyderabad. He has exhibited his paintings in various towns of the state, including at the exhibition at Amaravathi for Kalachakra in January 2007. He was conferred upon an Appreciation Certificate by the District Collector of Amaravathi, and was also appreciated by the delegates of Kalachakra.
