The biggest problem of kicking the drug habit is that you're never sure if you've done it. And Emily has bigger problems - like a dissolving life.

The Alliance Francaise of Hyderabad, in association with Hyderabad Film Club and the French Embassy in India, is screening a French film, Clean, on 21st November, at Sarathi Studios, Ameerpet. Emily is the wife and business partner of former rock idol Lee Hauser. One day when the couple were spending a night in their hotel room, Emily is charged on drug possession, imprisoned and sentenced to complete a 6-month rehab program.

Upon her release, she moves to Paris and goes about the arduous task of rebuilding her life. A musician herself, she has dreams of recording an album of her own material, but for now has to settle for a series of soul-deadening day jobs, from waitress to retail clerk.

The temptation to pick up the needle again is always present, but she dedicates herself to staying clean largely because that's the only way she'll be able to reunite with her young son, Jay, who is currently being looked after by Lee's parents.
