Kalasagaram, a cultural association based in Secunderabad, is organising a chamber vocal concert by Ch Kaivalya Kumar, on 22nd July, at the Kalasagaram premises in West Marredpally. Supporting Kaivalya Kumar are B Pavan Singh on the violin and Burra Sriram on the mridangam.
Ch Kaivalya Kumar learnt vocal from K Annapurna in Vijayawada initially, and is now under P V S Seshaiah Sastry in Hyderabad. He is a diploma holder in Carnatic vocal with distinction, and also has a certificate in Technical Teachers Training. He won the gold medal at the Annamacharya Kritis Competitions conducted by the Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams. A B-grade artiste of the All-India Radio, Kaivalya Kumar currently works as a music specialist at the Oakridge International School.
Kalasagaram is a South-Indian cultural association situated in the East Nehru Nagar of East Marredpally, and has been organising Carnatic music concerts for more than 35 years. The concerts are usually held in the Keyes High School campus at the open-air theater. The singers are generally from outside Hyderabad, usually amateurs and upcoming artistes, and quite competent. Kalasagaram also occasionally stages South-Indian classical dances and Tamil plays.
