Sri Krishna Swara Raaga Sravanthi is organizing the 600th jayanthi celebrations of Saint Annamacharya on 19th May, at Sri Thyagaraja Gana Sabha. On this occasion, the organization is organizing vocal concerts on Annamacharya keertanas. Mantha Srinivas and D Srinivasulu, along with their disciples, will present some rare keertanas of Annamacharya. They will be accompanied by Sridharacharya on the mridangam, Dattatreya on the flute, Rajashekar on the violin, Srinivasulu on the keyboards, Jaykumaracharya with special effects, Ravikanth on the rhythm pads, Harinder Singh on the tabla and R Sudhakar on the veena.
The chief guests for the program are Ghazal Srinivas, P V Rajeshwar Rao, Oleti Parvatisam and Guru Manjula Sri.
Mantha Srinivas is a Diploma in Music from Bhakta Ramadas Music College of Government Music College in Marredpally. He is a disciple of one of the famed Hyderabad Sisters, Hari Priya. He has performed all over India, including singing for Kuchipudi and Bharatnatyam recitals and ballets of Dr Shobha Naidu, Swati Somnath and many more dancers. He received the State First Award in District Youth Festival, from Dr Mangalampally Bala Muralikrishna.
D Srinivasulu is a disciple of Ramamurthy of Rayachoti, Kadapa district. He has done his B A in music from the S V Music College, Tirupathi, and M A in music from the Telugu University, Hyderabad. He is founder of Srivani Music Academy, in the year 2000, at Nallakunta, where he teaches Carnatic music to several students. He also teaches Annamacharya keertanas, free of cost, every Saturday from 4pm to 6pm, at his institute.
Sri Krishna Swara Raaga Sravanthi was founded by Ramakrishna in 2006. The organization has done more than 20 programs till date. The non-profit organization is also helping people who are mentally retarded, blind, and having health disorders, by providing funds.
