Vignana Samithi is organizing a Carnatic vocal concert by B Lalitha Madhav on 28th June, at the Anand Nagar Community Hall, Khairatabad. She will be accompanied by O Rajashekhar on the violin and Kaka Srinivas Rao on the mridangam.
Lalitha Madhav is a disciple of Sangeeta Samrat M S Balasubramania Sharma of Ongole, and Suguna Purushotham of Chennai. She has performed at many venues in the state, and also at Chennai, Bangalore, Madurai and Delhi. She has received many awards including by Narada Gana Sabha of Chennai, Kalasagaram of Secunderabad, and Sharada Gana Sabha of Ongole.
Vignana Samithi, which is in its 31st year of existence, tries to propagate and spread music by organising music concerts every month. It provides a platform for upcoming artistes by giving opportunities, and at the same time gets senior artistes to perform and conduct workshops. Many senior artistes have performed for the organisation, such as Dr. Balamurali Krishna, the Malladi Brothers, the Hyderabad Brothers and Sankaranarayanan.
