Brilliant Trophy Open Chess Tournament: Events in Hyderabad

And among that various things that cost you your self-esteem, here's what's current - an Under-7 chess tournament happening in town.

Brilliant Grammar High School at Dilsukhnagar is organising the Brilliant Trophy Open Chess Tournament, on the 14th and the 15th of October.

The matches will be held in the Under-7, Under-11 and Open Age categories, in both the boys and the girls sections. The registration fee is Rs. 150 for the open category, Rs. 200 for the Under-7 category and Rs. 300 for the Under-11 category. Spot entries will also be accepted.

The tournament will be conducted in the Sicilian format on a league basis. Every player has to play all the other players in his category, and on the basis of these performances, winners will be announced on the final points scored.

Players to represent the state for the Nationals, which will be held in Chennai and Goa, will be selected in this tournament in the Under-7 and the Under-11 age categories. Participation certificates will be given to all the participants, and mementoes and cash prizes of Rs. 2,000, Rs. 1,500 and Rs. 1,000 will be given to the first, second and third placed winners respectively.
