This is one of the short movies being screened today by the Films Anonymous Organisation. The chief guest for this occassion is the famous and controversial film-maker Mahesh Bhatt. He will also be accompanied by Anurag Kashyap, the man behind the film Black Friday. This Short Films Show is being conducted to encourage small films, which are screened only at the film festivals and consequently not available for the general public.
Heeraz Marfatia's short film 'Birju' explores a child's quest in an Indian village. Behind every photo, there's a story. A four year-old boy explores a village in India. Along the way he encounters sweets, scary old men and a monkey. We see all the adventure on the streets from a child's point of view. Who would have thought that there'll be so much action and adventure in a simple marketplace?
