If you thought that giving messages was much simpler than taking them, check these performances out. The only thing tougher than giving these messages this way is perhaps taking them after the damage has been done, but for the audiences, it is likely to be a delight to watch the creativity of 2 young dancers as they talk in the way they are really good at.
N C Harini and Sharmista Chatterjee, both graduates of Rukmini Arandale's Kalakshetra, Chennai, passed out with degrees in Bharatanatyam, and started their own training institute called "Srishti" last year in Hyderabad. On the event of their institute's first anniversary, they, along with their students, are going to perform on 2 consecutive days, on different subjects each day. And both the days' programs carry messages.
13th August

"Asatoma Sadgamaya" is a dance drama that aims to explain human temptations leading to the dreaded AIDS, society's indifferent behavior towards the victims, the principles (sadbuddi) that should guide the victims and the victory over pains. The message is "how to behave with a diseased person by giving the fullest co-operation and helping him feel normal".
Both the days' programs are being presented in co-operation with the Andhra Pradesh AIDS Control Society.
