Shilparamam, as part of the on-going All India Crafts Mela from 16th to 31st December, is organising a Kuchipudi dance ballet, Srinivasam, by Ravi Kumar & his disciples today, the 8th day. The ballet is choreographed, written and directed by Ravi Kumar.
Srinivasam is based on Lord Venkateshwara and Alivelumanga, and is choreographed with Annamacharya keertanas. This 1-hour ballet will be performed by Ravi Kumar, Prasanna, Sriram, Renuka, Padmaja, Vani, Harika, Kiranmayi, Rajeshwari, Mounika, Sruthiveena and Sravani.
Ravi Kumar founded Ravi Kumar Natyalaya in Vizianagaram, about 7 years ago. He has given performances abroad in Sharjah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and London. Along with his students, he has performed for various Telugu Associations at Mumbai, Chennai, Bhilai and Kolkata, besides in Andhra Pradesh. He is a multi-faceted artiste, who also knows Carnatic vocal, light music, instrumental music and oil paintings.
