Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad is screening a US documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, on 15th February, at the association's office in Hermitage Complex, Opp. A P Legislative Assembly. The documentary is directed by Davis Guggenheim from USA.
An Inconvenient Truth is an Oscar-winning documentary about global warming, presented by former United States Vice-President Al Gore, a recipient of this year's Noble Peace Prize.
An Inconvenient Truth focuses on Al Gore's travels in support of his efforts to educate the public about the severity of the looming climate crisis. In the film, Gore reviews the scientific opinion on climate change, discusses the politics and economics of global warming, and describes the consequences he believes global climate change will produce.
Gore also argues that the effects of global warming can be successfully reversed by planting more vegetation to consume existing Carbon Dioxide. He calls upon his viewers to participate in these efforts.
The film will be followed by a discussion panel with Gayathri Ramachandran, IAS, Director General of EPTRI; Dr. V K Bawa, Founder Vice-Chairman of HUDA; and others on the most relevant and alarming global issues concerning global warming.
