About 10,000 books are in one place for sale this entire week. Happier than the bibliophiles are the traffic cops - it's another great place for them to stand at waiting for helmetless motorists!
On the occasion of the National Book Week, Visalandhra Book House is organising the 3rd Hyderabad Book Mela from 1st to 11th November, at YMCA Narayanaguda.
About 10,000 different books are being exhibited in this exhibition: books such as Sarath Sahityam and Mullapudi Venkataramana Rachanas, and on Sri Sri's revolutionary poems, picturesque Bapu stories for Telugu literature-lovers, biographies of eminent national leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Abdul Kalam Azad. There are also books on computer quizzes, painting, drawing, general knowledge etc. for children; and on communication skills, grammar building, tri-language dictionaries and history for others.
Some of the exhibitors are Sahitya Akademi, Telugu University, Telugu Academy, Pusthak Mahal, Children Book Trust, Sura, Oxford, Oriental, Indian Book House, Orient Longman and Visalandhra. The exhibition was inaugurated by Rajya Sabha Member Aziz Pasha on 1st November.
