Jamshedpur is on the West Side. Mother Teresa is the most successful living person. All these answers may still haunt even the mentally challenged people, raising an instinct to ban the bimbo contests, but some people are still endeavoring to bring out the true meaning of such events. That is to enhance the prospects of just another respectable profession called modeling.
To promote opportunities for new entrants in the modeling world and to cater the needs of fashion fabric, cosmetics, advertising agencies and various consumable products and industrial produces, the Y's Men's Club of Secunderabad Central and the Y's Youth Club of Secunderabad Central are jointly organizing a modeling contest for female youth of age group 18 to 27 years. The first round of the prelims were held on the 30th of last month, and today will be the second round.
This contest will provide an opportunity for them to exhibit their talent and enter the modeling field either as professionals or as dabblers with the objective of making a quick buck. The girls qualifying through prelim II will take part in the Y's Model Contest to be held in September 2001. The winner will be crowned as Y's Model and the first and second runners-up will be declared as Y's Model II and III. Special prizes for elegance, posture, being photogenic and style will be awarded. All participants selected in the prelims will be provided a free portfolio and their photos will also be placed in the website.
The Y's Men's Club, being a social service organization, is not charging anything, and anyone can apply. The last date for receiving entries is the 25th of this month, and the entry forms can be had from Y S R Murthy, Chairman, Y's Model Contest, Club Secretariat, 3-6-188/1, Above Bloom & Blossom School, Lane Opposite C D R Hospital, Hyderguda, Hyderabad-29 or from T Kishore Kumar at 756-4850 or from Magician Anand Goud at 766-4672.
