If your only tryst with Goa has been with Sagar or Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, then it's unlikely you'll know what terms like Balchao, Vindaloo and Bibinca mean. Here's an expensive way to find out.
The Goan Food Festival, on at the Deccan Pavilion in the ITC Kakatiya Sheraton, should be pretty interesting for all fans of Goan cuisine. There are a variety of dishes like the ones mentioned above and several others that will be served for 10 days at a stretch at this fest that has had three chefs flown in. You also get to enjoy the Goan music while savoring food, to add to the feeling of authenticity. 4 dancers and 2 singers, with musicians accompanying them, will present Dekhni, Kunbhi, Cotti Fungdi and Vauradi.
The Goan cuisine will be a part of the existing buffet at the Deccan Pavilion for lunch and dinner, and the musical performances will happen in the evening.
