Kinnera Art Theatres is commemerating the 25th death anniversary of Mahakavi Sri Sri on 18th June at Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha at 6:30pm. On this occasion, they will be presenting the Sri Sri Memorial Award to Chandra Bose.
Chandra Bose, a renowned songwriter for movies was born in 1972, in Warangal zilla. He completed his graduation in engineering before he moved on to writing lyrics professionaly. He has written lyrics for over 600 films and 1700 songs. He was awarded the Nandi in 2002 & 2004, Maa TV award in 2005 & 2006, and Best Music award in 2008 at New York, by the Telugu literary cultural association.
The evening starts with a musical nite by singers Y R Sastry, Pavan, Akarsha, Akhila and Rajini, who will sing revolutionary songs written by Sri Sri. Justice D Appa Rao, Chairman of A P State Commission For Consumer Disputes, will be the chief guest for the occasion. The other guests for the evening are Padmabhushan and Gnanpeeth awardee Dr. C Narayana Reddy; popular movie director Shiva Nageshwar Rao; and movie songwriter Vennelakanti.
Kinnera Art Theatres was started in 1977, and has since organised various programs, including musical nites, classical dances and vocals, felicitations and releases of books. It has served as a platform for many upcoming artistes, and has at the same time provided recognition and appreciation for established ones. Dr. R Prabhakar Rao, IPS, is the chairman of the association, while M Raghuram is its dedicated secretary.
