How many elements have you conceived since you yourself were? That should give you an idea of how much creative energy it must have taken the Almighty to think up of five, and make them too. And we have no business messing with them, this brother-sister duo feels.
Siblings K C Venkatramana and K Srivani instituted the Mayur Academy School of Performing Arts in 1992. Post graduates in Kuchipudi dance from the Hyderabad Central University, both are actively involved in teaching the art form, and in promoting it through arranging programs.
"Panchabhootalu" is a ballet scripted by Raja Sivananda, a veteran cine director and a writer who has been contributing to the Telugu cine field for the past 30 years. Venkatramana and Srivani have jointly choreographed this dance that carries a message and is performed by students of their institute.
Charitha, Laxmi Sailaja, Sunny Kiran, Aparna, Chaitanya and Vishnu Saran will represent the earth, air, water, fire and sky, in presenting this ballet, where the message is that without the "Panchabhootalu" the universe will not exist. An attempt is also made to remind humans of the uniqueness of the five elements, which are now being polluted and neglected by us. Jealousy and greed should be shed, and proper action and care have to be initiated immediately, otherwise the consequences can be fatal.
The ballet will be followed by dance performances by 6 groups of students of the institute (22 in all). They will start with Vinayaka Kautam (prayer), and will present 6 items - Geetam, Brahmanjali, Dasavatara Sabdam, Pushpanjali, Gopika Geetam, Ramayana Sabdam and Tillana.
