It wouldn't be too much to say that women interest men, and here's a man who's made a career out of it. And in a very respectable manner, we hasten to add. To carry that punning to the limit, there are several women behind his success.
S K Sirajuddin is a well-known artist from the Hyderabad who specializes in watercolor paintings. His works typically portray the rural and modern women, and have an air of the elusive and mystery about them. He is currently the head of the Department of Arts in the Venkateshwar Arts College, Madhapur.
Sirajuddin is hosting this exhibition to promote his paintings. Most of his works that will be on display will depict rural and modern women. He has experimented with watercolors using a wide variety of techniques, and that will make these paintings unique to watch.
Sirajuddin was born in 1965, and received his first award from the Navrang Chitra Kalaniketan in the All India Amateur Competitions at the age of 20. He also received other awards like the JNTU Annual Exhibition Award (I Prize) in 1989, the All India Hyderabad Art Society Award (1990), the All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society Award at Delhi (1997), The Hyderabad Art Society Award (1997, 2000 and 2001), the Best Art Teacher Award from the Bharat Kala Parishrama (1999) and the Hyderabad Art Society Awards.
