The National Handicrafts & Handloom Expo - 2004, is a plethora of cultures unleashed. That's what you get when 250 stalls from 22 states gather at one place to showcase the craftsmanship of a million. That, and some heavy-duty wishful thinking.
Organized by the Gramin Hastakal Vikas Samiti, Agra, the expo is a congregation of the finest arts of the country. Skilled artisans, national and state level handicrafts and handloom award winners and creativity in its entirety gets a vent here.
The items displayed include Tanjore paintings, carpets, Khujra pottery, German silverware, brass paraphernalia, jute jewelry, Lucknow's Chikan work, Pochampally saris, Karnataka's wood carvings, earthen craft, vibrant masks, crockery, teracotta, garden equipment and blue pottery. The prices range from Rs. 150 to a whopping Rs. 3,500.
Articles like keychains, chess boards, key stands, bottles, masks, saris, paintings, furniture, idols, statuettes and many other artefacts find a place here.
