A sense of humor is a very inconspicuous feature. You'd be surprised to find it in the most improbable of places. Like when you thought that the gun you used in the college play was fake, and after you fired it you laughed out loud at the corny expression the guy who was shot gave. Until the police came and said something that was far from funny...
So anyone, one person who was a frequent with police and jails but for all the correct reasons was the Mahatma. Mahatma it seems had a crisp sense of humor and this play is bringing out that aspect of the great man.
Mystic Lotus is the latest play by Bilkis Alladin that revolves around Gandhiji but never shows him on stage. It involves the influence of Gandhi on historical characters such as Jawaharlal Nehru, Sarojini Naidu etc.
The play is a form of reading done by noted city-based artist such as Nikhilesh Sinha, Fatima Shehnaz, Sangamitra Malik, Sabiha Meghjani, Ratna Shekhar and Sofia Sujjad.
The entrance is through invites only. So make those calls.
