As part of its weekly classical dance recital programs, Shilparamam is presenting a Kuchipudi dance performance by the disciples of Sudheer from Warangal, this Sunday.
Neelamani, Sinduja, Lasya, Gayathri, Kavya, Ashwini, Vaishnavi and Arshini will start the recital with a Ganapati Stuthi, followed by Jatiswaram, Sri Rama Pattabhisheka Shabdam, a Tarangam - Neela Megha Shareera, Bhama Kalapam, Tillana in Dhanasree, and a Keertana. The orchestra for the recital is by Sudheer with the nattuvangam, Govind Reddy with the vocals, Vinod on the violin and Anil on the mridangam.
Sudheer is a disciple of Dr. K Uma Rama Rao, and has a B A and an M A in Kuchipudi, from the Telugu University, Hyderabad. He has performed all over the country, and also in Malaysia, Singapore and Dubai. He is the founding President of Sivananda Nritya Mala, started in 1995, through which he teaches Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam to about 50 students. His students had performed at various places in the country. One of his students, D Arshini, was awarded the Bala Ratna Award by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh.
