Aalapana, on the occasion of its 12th anniversary, is, in association with the Delhi Telugu Academy, organising a unique music nite Hum Paanch, at Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha, on 31st July. Hum Paanch will be performed individually by five different artistes, such as A R K Raju, L Venkateshwarlu, Aruna Subbarao, Savyasachi and Mekala Narayana.
Alluri Ramakrishna Raju, renowned as A R K Raju, is a singer who imitates more than 25 Telugu and Hindi cine singers. He has been practicing this art for the last 25 years. He was awarded the title of Bhinnaswara Raju by Vooyala Communications.
Aruna Subbarao is a Limca Book of Records holder for singing 100 folk songs in 100 minutes. She is a parody singer and has sung many songs on different topics in various TV channels. She was awarded the title Parody Lady by Magic Fun Skool. She founded Aalapana Cultural Association twelve years ago, and has been organising various music programs.
Venkateshwarlu has sung 100 duets in one hour and has entered into the Limca Book of Records. He has secured a diploma in mimicry from the Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University. He can sing duets by imitating the tones of L R Eashwari, Bhanumati and A M Raja with ease. He was awarded the title Abhinava Ellareeshwari by Vooyala Communications.
Writer, poet and singer Savyasachi has won two Golden Nandi Awards for two telefilms. He is an expert in whistle singing and has been an inspiration for many artistes.
Mekala Narayana not only sings folk songs, but also dances to the tunes. Folk music has been his life for more than 30 years. His gangireddu song will be the highlight of tonite's performance.
