Look who's at the door! Don't recognize aunty, son? My, and you heard so much of her in your childhood!
Well, at least in her time, no hot-blooded young man who heard that voice lent to the sirens of the era would have liked to call her aunty. Yes it is Yellareeswari, the yesteryear comical/humorous/cabaret song singer, who's coming to Hyderabad to perform in a musical show being organized by Kalaraadhana.
A resident of Chennai, the lady is performing in Hyderabad after nearly a decade and a half. A famous singer of 1960s, Yellareeswari's club songs and humorous numbers in movies were a runaway hit those days. And the musical nite that she is presenting today will be a three-and-half-hour program where she will sing many of her hits.
Kalaraadhana was founded by Sanjay Kishore, a young film journalist of 27 years who boasts of having the largest film library and is into organizing youth festivals, little master shows (with children) and felicitations to popular personalities. He also helps upcoming and senior artists by arranging stage shows under his banner, and financially helps poor artists apart from arranging entertainment programs for old age homes.
