A poet once said that women can be beautiful. Okay, we at fullhyd.com aren't great with our quotes, but here is a much more profound expression of the same.
The Lakshana Art Gallery at Masab Tank is organising a painting exhibition by Chamele Kodali, from 18th to 28th June. A collection of about 15 paintings will be displayed during the 11-day exhibition. Painted on the media of acrylic on canvas and board, Chamele has used a melange of both warm and cool colors to bring in an appeal of vibrancy.
Collectively titled World Of Women, these figurative paintings explore the world of the feminine beauty, in different moods and delegated duties, such as mother, wife, daughter, student and housewife. Being a woman herself, she's detailed every hidden feelings and expressions of women, through her paintings, be it marriage, gossip or transformation of womanhood.
This is Chamele's first solo exhibition - she's earlier participated in a group exhibition for her employer HSBC in 2004 and in an annual show with the Scribble Artists Group in 2007 at the State Art Gallery. She also won the gold and silver medal in the 2005 South Asia Pacific Painting Competition organised by HSBC in Hyderabad.
Chamele is a self-taught artist whose father Lakshmi Prasad was a cine banner artist, and with these genes in her, she got into figurative paintings nine years ago. Mostly concentrating on commercial paintings so far, she has now ventured into exhibitive paintings.
