Most artistes take pride in their own biodatas. Gurjale take pride in the biodatas of his students. One of the city's foremost violin teachers takes stage himself tonite.
The Chaitanya Art Theatres, together with the Department of Culture, is organising a classical violin symphony called The Eternal Symphony (Vadhi Samvadhi) by Ashok Gurjale and his 75 disciples, at the Lalithakala Thoranam, this Saturday. It is an Indian Classical, Devotional and a fusion concert.
With P R C Sarma on the mridangam, Sridharacharya on the tabla, Ravikanth on the octopads, Ravichandra Babu on the Tavil, Ashok Gurjale on the lead violin, Giffon, Pavan, Srinivas, and Vachaspati on the keyboards, and joining them are 75 students of Ashok Gurjale with their violins, will start the recital with an Omkara, followed by Vathapi Ganapathim, Endaro Mahanubhavulu, Swara Madhuri, River Godavari and slowly towards fusion with Aspiration and other Western numbers.
Ashok Gurjale initially learnt music from Late Nori Srinivasa Sarma and perfected the skills under late Marella Keshava Rao. He is an outstanding student from the Government Music College, Ramkote, and pursued Western Classical from Chennai.
A top Classical and Western violin artist, he has been a regular violin player in the film industry, having accompanied renowned music directors like M M Keeravani, Manisharma, S A Rajkumar, Koti and Sreelekha. He also accompanied Dr Shobha Naidu to Mauritius, and is a permanent artiste for Dr Nataraja Ramakrishna, Sumathy Kaushal, Anuradha Jonnalagadda, Vanaja Uday, Rajeswari Sainath, Dr Raja Reddy and Alarmelvalli from Chennai.
He specializes in Indian classical and Western classical fusion, and has enormous experience in conducting and composing classical symphonies with a minimum orchestra of 110 artistes. He has played in many towns and cities of India, as also in Dubai and London, and has even composed Classical dance ballets for many artistes.
He has started a violin school christened as Aarabhi - The Violin School in Hyderabad city, with an ambition to produce child prodigies and reach even the poorest of music-eager families. Aarabhi
