On occasion of Doctors' Day on 1st July, Megacity Nava Kala Vedika is presenting the Vaidya Shiromani awards, on 30th June, at Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha. Dr. Kakarla Subbarao, director of NIMS, and Dr. Madugula Nagaphani Sarma, Awadhani and poet, will be the chief guests for the occasion. The various recipients of the award are:
Dr. R V Kumar, Superintendent of NIMS
Dr. Satyanarayana, Medical Superintendent of NIMS
Dr. Vidhyadhari, Professor and HOD of medicine, Medicity Institute of Medical Science
Dr. B Ravi Shankar, consultant and gastrologist at Yashoda hospital
Dr. Abdul Rasheed, Additional District Medical Health Officer, Mahboobnagar
Dr. S Sita Jayalaxmi, Professor of Neurology at NIMS
Dr. Bhavani Prasad, plastic and cosmetology surgeon, Yashoda hospital
Dr. Maheshwar Reddy, physician, Kurnool Medical College
The award ceremony will be preceded by a Ghantasala musical nite, by Nanduri Lakshman and group.
Megacity Nava Kala Vedika was established by Mallikarjuna Sarma about 5 years ago, out of his love towards old cine songs. He stages musical nites every month at Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha, by bringing in amateur artistes.
