You have only known them sitting in plush offices, tapping away daintily at computers, or at the most, indulging in some hi-funda management talk. Well, now they all get down and dirty in the Xius Times Corporate Olympiad 2005. No, this is not the big-brother of the Math Olympiad at school which you kept taking year after year, but never passed. In this one, 25 companies in town, from Cognizant to Google, all assemble their very own, home cricket teams, to clash in the Glendale School, NFC and ECIL grounds for a match of Olympic proportions. Hence, Olympiad!
The work-shirts, ties and power blazers will give way to the gentlemen's whites on the green turf. The matches will start on 15th October, and with breaks, will go on to till 4th of December. They are being organised by DCSO and INSIGHT and this is the first time in India that corporate cricket is being organised both day and night on such a large scale.
So put on your sun-hats, grab that hamper of Coke and sandwiches, and witness the action as the sedentary and the office-bound are let loose on to the fields. If Tendulkar is expected to play much better after he rests and recuperates, the white collars will probably send the ball flying across town, considering the amount of energy they have stored up all this while.
