Andhra Pradesh Tourism is organizing various contests in categories like Best Slogan, Mr & Mrs Heritage, Best Taxi/Auto Driver, quizzing for school children and Best Paying Guest, on the occasion of the 'World Tourism Day'. Coinciding with the day, awards will be presented to successful contestants in the various categories:
Quiz Contest for School Children
On the 22nd of September at Ravindra Bharati at 3pm, a quiz contest for school children will be held. This is open to all schools in the twin cities. Two students can be nominated by each school. Questions will be related to tourism in Andhra Pradesh. Nominations should reach The Director, Department of Culture, Kala Bhavan, Ravindra Bharathi, by the 20th evening.
Best Slogan Contest
Slogans should be related to Andhra Pradesh Tourism. Short slogans in English can be written on a post-card giving the address of the participant. It should be addressed to The Director, Department of Culture, Kala Bhavan, Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad, and should reach on or before the 22nd of September.
Mr. & Mrs. Heritage Contest
The contest will be held at the campus of the National Institute of Fashion Technology at Madhapur. The concept will be heritage dress code. The age groups are: below 18 years, 18-30 years and above 30 years. The last date for receipt of applications is the 20th of September.
Best Taxi Driver / Auto Driver
Nominations can be given by individuals, taxi associations, employers or other users highlighting the tourist-friendly attitude of the driver or any other aspect worthy of recognition. Nominations on plain paper giving the address of the nominee and of the sender should be sent to The Director, Department of Culture on or before the 22nd of September.
Best Paying Guest Accommodation
A P Tourism has a list of those who host the tourist visiting the city by offering a paying guest accommodation. The applications are invited for awarding those who have accommodated many number of guests and received letter of appreciation from the guests. Nominations should be sent to Director, Department of Culture, on or before the 22nd of September.
