Padma Mohana believes that behind every successful man there is a woman - whatever he may claim - and also that the woman is the wife - now no sensible man would claim anything else here, would he? And so this is one place where the wife will accompany the husband onto the stage as he takes the award.
The Padma Mohana Art Theaters was established by Depalle Yadagiri to promote the arts among today's youth. It has been organizing cultural programs and giving awards for the last 11 years to husband-wife duos who have contributed their valuable services to society and earned a name for themselves.
The organization is today giving away its 'Visista Dampatulu' awards to 4 pairs. The husband, for having achieved a remarkable name in society in his field, and the wife, for not only looking after the household but also contributing to her husband's success, will both get the award. The four pairs are Dr Kakarla Subba Rao and Laxmi Subba Rao (in medicine), G B K Rao and G V Kumari (in business), S Linga Reddy and Sedda Rukkamma (in agriculture) and P S Narayana Rao and P S Jayaprada (in industry).
