It's New Year time for almost every community in India. From the Ugadi of Andhra Pradesh to the Baisakhi of Punjab, celebrations are no more restricted to regional boundaries. And coinciding with the Bengali New Year day, Hotel Golkonda is offering a fabulous Bengali food festival.
It is a buffet with variations in the food being served, everyday. The price for the buffet includes, with the delicacies, a free pint bottle of beer and a free peg of whisky. The special dishes include Machher Kalia, Bhappa Machh, Muroger Jhol and Kosha Mangsho. Kosha Mangsho is basically mutton that is prepared by frying the meat with lots of masala (spices) for about 45 to 60 mins. This is done with very less or, at times, without water.
The vegetarian delights include Aaloo Posto Bhajja and Sweet Pulao - called Mishti Pulao in Bengali. Also, there are Labra, Charchori, the mandatory Rosgulla and the Mishti Doi.
The food festival is being organized in a typical Bengali party ambience, with Rabindro Sangeet being played in the background. For more information and reservation details, please contact at 2332-0202 or 2332-0303.
