Remember Mohnish Behl? Oh, it's okay - he's not the main reason you'll be here anyway. It's the art-lover in you, and, equally importantly, the human in you.
Kalakriti Art Gallery is displaying 38 works of 20 senior artists and 5 emerging artists, as part of an annual art auction, from 1st to 6th April. The auction will be conducted by noted film actor Mohnish Behl, on 8th April, at Taj Banjara. The works have been done during the Krishnakriti Annual Festival Of Art And Culture held 7th to 11th January.
20 senior artists, namely Ahmed Ali Manganhar, Atif Khan, Ayesha Jatoi, and Nilofar Akmut from Pakistan, Md. Rafiqun Nabi from Bangladesh, Achuthan Kuduelkur, Anjani Reddy, Babu Xavier, Dhiraj Chowdhury, Dilip Ranade, Jogen Chowdhury, Manish Pushkale, Rajeshwar Rao, Ramananda Bandopadhyay, Sekhar Roy, Sisir Sahana, Subrato Gangopadhyay, Suhas Roy, Suman Roy and Vidya Kamat, and emerging artists like Ashutosh Bhardawaj, Pradeep Mishra, Rahul Vajale, Sathyanand Mohan, and Sunil Lohar, are exhibiting their works.
The Krishnakriti Art And Culture Festival is being organised every year by the Lahoti Foundation, which was established by Prashant Lahoti in memory of his father Krishnachandra B Lahoti. On this occasion, art camps are organised by eminent artists and the works are auctioned off at the end of the festival. The proceeds from the sales go to The Krishnachandra B Lahoti Scholarship, which sponsors holistic education for deserving and needy students. Last year's proceeds have gone a long way in supporting 70 children.
