Marking the inauguration of the new building complex of Sarojini Naidu School Of Arts & Communication and also as part of the annual Cultural Festival on 13th & 14th March, Sufi singer Mir Mukhtiar Ali will be performing on 13th March at the campus. The concert begins at 7pm.
Mukhtiar Ali is a Mirasi folk singer from Bikaner, and blends Rajasthani folk idiom with classicism, singing the poetry of Kabir, Mira and other Sufi poets like Bulleh Shah. Mukhtiar was spotted by world music circuits through the Kabir Project, and made his Europe debut in July 2007.
The Sarojini Naidu School of Performing Arts, Fine Arts and Communication started functioning from 1988-89, and offers masters-level courses in dance, theatre arts, painting and communication, and doctoral programs in communication, theatre arts, and dance.
