What's the connection between cancer and golf? For now, it's Kapil Dev, pitching in to tee off the killer disease.
The Cure Foundation is organizing a world-class golf tournament as a fund raiser and awareness initiative, on 12th & 13th March, at the Emaar MGF Boulder Hills Golf Club. The tournament, Cancer Crusaders, Invitation Cup, will be an annual event.
The format of the tournament is stable ford points with a tee off shotgun start. The highlight of the event is 'The Celebrity Golf Playoff" that will take place at the 18th hole. The gallery has a view of the 18th hole, from where viewers can watch celebrities vie to come on top.
The celebrity golf playoff itself is a custom-designed format that will last about one hour, and is designed to entertain and give celebrities an opportunity to take a shot at the game. This year, the celebrity playoff will have Indian cricketing legend Kapil Dev.
There will be a total of 93 prizes for individual and team events, and prizes will be awarded for the first 3 places - Diamond, Platinum and Gold.
CURE Foundation is an initiative to create consciousness on cancer prevention, and early detection, cure & rehabilitation, specially for the needful. In addition to spreading awareness for the benefit of the society, the foundation has so far made cancer treatment available to over 500 patients, and is engaged in rehabilitation, research and education programs.
