Shilparamam is organizing Srinivasa Kalyanam, a Harikatha, by Velide Narasimha Murthy Bhagavatha, on 6th July. The theme of the harikatha is Padmavati Kalyanam and the establishment of Lord Venkateshwara. The story is about how Lord Venkateshwara established himself in Venkatadri, and also his marriage to Padmavati, which is also popularly known as Padmavati Kalyanam. Accompanying Narasimha Murthy will be his two sons, Velide Shravan Kumar on the mridangam and Velide Bhargav Kumar on the keyboard.
Velide Narasimha Murthy Bhagavatha is the son and disciple of Hari Shankara Sastry. He started performing harikathas at 12 years of age, and has been performing them now for more than 45 years. He has more than 500 programs to his credit. He was awarded the Bala Bhagavathar Award at the tender age of 12, and was honored with the Swarna Ganta Sanmanam in 2004. He has performed at various locations including Yadagiri, Tirupati and at the Laxmi Narasimham temple. He is also a B-grade officer in the Annamacharya project, Tirupati.
